ADHD Active

Remote assessment

Online ADHD Assessment UK

A structured ADHD assessment by secure video call, available to adults and children across the UK without the need to travel.

Can I get an ADHD assessment online?

Yes. ADHD Active delivers online ADHD assessment for adults aged 16–60 and children aged 6–16. A secure video consultation lets your clinician explore your symptoms, personal history and day-to-day functioning in detail, while keeping the assessment accessible from home.

An online appointment is not a shortcut or an automatic diagnosis. It follows the same structured clinical process as any appropriate assessment, and your clinician will discuss any limitations or additional information needed.

The benefits of a remote appointment

  • Attend from a familiar, private space
  • No travel to a clinic or time away for a waiting room
  • Available to adults and children across the UK
  • Secure video appointment with a specialist clinician
  • Structured questionnaires completed online beforehand
  • Written report and GP letter after the assessment

What to expect

  1. 1

    Complete the online screening

We send validated questionnaires and ask for background information before your appointment.

  2. 2

    Choose a video appointment

We confirm a date and send a secure link. Adults attend alone; children attend with a parent or carer.

  3. 3

    Talk through your history

Your clinician explores symptoms, childhood, health, education, work and daily functioning in a structured interview.

  4. 4

    Receive the outcome

The diagnostic outcome is explained at the end of the appointment, including the evidence considered.

  5. 5

    Plan your next step

Your report follows within 21 days. If ADHD is diagnosed, we discuss treatment, coaching and follow-up options.

Prepare for your video assessment

Choose a quiet, private space and allow enough time without interruptions. Have examples of your experiences ready, particularly from childhood, and gather school reports or information from someone who knows you well. A parent or carer should attend a child's appointment. You can find more detail on our ADHD assessment process page.
